Ivor began teaching singing and voice in 1982 and has since gained a reputation as a first class classical voice teacher.
Ivor is highly qualified with over 25 years' experience. He continues his professional development keeping ahead of current thinking in the development of voice science which he links with his extensive knowledge of older schools of singing. He thus combines the old and the new into a thoroughly effective approach individually tailored for each student. Ivor presented a paper at the Thinking and Singing conference in London this August. Following on from the EVTA conference in Slovenia, and gave a short presentation at the beginning of the EVTA conference in Aix-en-Provence, then attended the first European Voice Academy in Marseilles and finished the summer at the Pan European Voice Conference.
Ivor also performs as a tenor soloist in opera, oratorio and gives recitals and has worked with, amongst others, Geoffrey Burford, Mary Bruce and Betty Roe. He studied singing in London and in Germany. He has performed with companies including Handel Opera, The Music Room, Barrezzi Opera, Northern Ireland Opera Trust, Musica Nel Chiostro and in addition, broadcast on BBC Radio and more recently sang with the W10 singers.
Ivor Flint teaches classical singing at the London College of Music (University of West London) to foundation and undergraduate students and is a frequent visitor to Finchcocks. He is the Warden for the Private Teachers section of the Incorporated Society of Musicians and is a member of the British Voice Association, the Association of Teachers of Singing where he gave a presentation with Susan Yarnall at the 2011 annual conference on Digital Technology in the Singing Studio.
